Linda works in water-based mixed media with an innovative, non-traditional approach focusing on texture. She exploits the physical properties of different water-based media and papers and often uses collage to enable her to mix paper surfaces to achieve different textural effects. She enjoys painting coastal subjects and urban scenes including construction sites.
Living near Reading in Berkshire, in 2019 she instigated and co-curated an exhibition inspired by Oscar Wilde’s The Ballad of Reading Gaol. Further inspired by the campaign to Save Reading Gaol to create an Arts and Culture Centre, she organised the Reading Gaol Hug which saw the Gaol surrounded by 1000 people linking hands. In 2020, she co-authored the book 'Reading’s Influential Women' published by Two Rivers Press.
Linda is an Associate of the Royal Watercolour Society and vice-chair of the Reading Guild of Artists. She exhibits regularly in the Reading area and at the Bankside Gallery in London. She has also exhibited with the Royal Institute, the Discerning Eye and The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.

I have lived in Berkshire in the UK for 20 years.
I am a demonstrator and tutor and have had great fun demonstrating to and teaching lots of different Art organizations in the UK and abroad, both face to face and online.
I developed my mixed-media technique out of necessity. Living in a country struggling under the weight of economic sanctions, teachers and artists had to learn to improvise with natural flora and fauna. More information on my website.
I have also won various awards for my mixed-media paintings at Patchings Annual Art Exhibition in Calverton, near Nottingham.
“Jenny is a tremendously creative, talented artist. Her creations transform a home. Plus … she managed to teach a non-painter to complete a few pieces . She’s patitent, hilarious, great fun – a superb teacher!”
I belong to the Crowthorne and Sandhurst Art Society. From 2001-2005 I was their exhibition secretary. I have also exhibited with The Society of Women Artists at the Mall Gallery, twice.
The Nolan Trust Biennial Exhibition invited me to exhibit when I first arrived in the UK. One of the paintings was of a seagull pinching a chip. There is a very funny story attached to the exhibition of the painting, to read on my website.

Fred paints what is around him; that is still-lives of the jugs, bottles, fruit and such in the house, or flowers from the garden. For him, the best way to capture the nature of these things is to employ the expressive possibilities provided by oil painting.
Fred is also attracted to accuracy and detail which can often be achieved through drawing, so working in charcoal or pastel pencils is also important for him.
A concern for understanding the inner workings of things has always motivated Fred and this was evident in his studies. Gaining a B.Sc in Physics took him into the Aerospace industry and then looking for more insight, a Ph.D in Engineering took him into computing. On retirement, Fred wanted to take these concerns into the area of artistic activities and he realised that realistic painting in the traditional “atelier” manner would satisfy him best. This traditional approach to art allows a wide range of expression with great concerns for form, colour and tone.
Fred gained experience in painting and drawing by attendance on courses at various specialist Art Schools. These studies also created a fascination with both portraiture and figure-drawing, which he has maintained.

Fred displays his works regularly at various shows and art-society exhibitions. He has recently exhibited successfully with the Mall Galleries-based ING Discerning Eye.
