Hydrangea_Bomb - Floral Oil Painting by Newbury Berkshire Artist Ruma Husain

Hydrangea Explosion

An energetic depiction of vintage florals. I am in awe of Dutch Master-style floral paintings and continue to find ways to integrate this exaggerated movement of petals into paintings.

It is an area I am still working on. Sometimes finding the correct flow of petals can be a challenge, but it’s an enjoyable pursuit. The print is actually part of a much larger painting, still in progress, created initially using acrylics and then graduating into the blended realism using oils.

About The Artist

Ruma Husain is an artist, who specialises in oil painting and creating vintage-style art specifically for products embracing themes of nature and femininity, for the elegant brand called Earth Angel Art 280.

Situated in England, she loves to spend most of her spare time exploring the British countryside to observe and connect with nature and photograph inspirations in order to hand paint and create images for her unique and colorful brand.

Often ideas fall in subconsciously and often it is not until after the painting is created that she is able to trace back to where the images were initially inspired. The paintings alter several times over the process and the ending of each piece to her is quite visceral. Her style is an adaptation of the Rococo movement, brought forward with a twist of unusual ethereal symbolism.

Earth Angel Art 280 is a Registered Trade mark and is therefore also available for licensing purposes.

My Art

Over a period of time I found myself living alone amongst nature in the leafy English suburbs of Hampstead, where I fell in love with the myriad flowers . The seeds of the initial visions were planted there. At the core, the compositions are a capture of the powerful healing, dream-like state, which an abundance of nature can evoke.

The creative process started off quite raw, using acrylics to allow freedom of movement around the canvas to array the composition and those were later overlaid and refined in oils. The inspirations evolved throughout a period of years. Styled with a touch of Rococo, it is the original hand paintings, which formed the basis of my art and my art products.
